Devbaug Beach & Tsunami Island - Sindhudurg District

Devbagh is a small fishing village which sits on a thin strip of land with the Karli River backwaters on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. Devbagh Beach is adjacent to Tarkarli Beach and ends at Devbagh Sangam. It is easily accessed via the Malvan-Tarkarli road. Devbaug Beach (12km south of Malvan). Malvan is a town in Sindhudurg District, the southernmost district of Maharashtra.
Tsunami Island (near Devbaug beach) is a small island on the delta of Tarkarli river. This beach cum island also is the place to enjoy boat ride in the backwaters of Tarkarli River. This island is not formed due to Tsunami waves, But due to this imaginary name it is a popular tourist destination for water sports where one can enjoy rides like Jet-Ski, Banana boat ride, Bumper boat, Kayaks etc. Best time to visit Tsunami island for water sports is during high tide when the small island is partially submerged under the water (till knee length).

Tarkarli Beach - Sindhudurg District


Tarkarli is a village in Malvan Taluka, district Sindhudurg. It is tourist destination in coastal Maharashtra, an attractive beach. From there, one can see the famous naval fort Sindhudurg built by Shivaji Maharaj. This village is famous for its Ramnavmi Utsav. Here in Mapurush Temple the celebration of Ramnavmi is arranged every year. To mark this occasion various dramas (Marathi Natak) are arranged. This place has gained prominence because of its long and narrow stretch of beach with pristine waters. On a clear day, one can see the bed unto a depth of 20 ft. It presents a panoramic view with tall 'Shuru' trees in the background. The wide river, the beautiful sailboats and the tiny hamlets situated on the riverbank, add to the picturesque beauty of Tarkarli. Sighting dolphins is not a rare event here. This place fishes throughout the year, the sea during summer and winter and back-waters during the monsoon since the sea water enters this area and also due to safety reasons.

Chivla Beach - Sindhudurg District

A small arc shaped beach with rocky stretches on either end of the arc, Chivla is one of the nearest beach from the Malvan town. The rock gardens is very close to the Chivla beach.
Chivla beach is long stretch of 1-1.5 kms of clean sands between Government rest house on left and rocky jutting on the right is a pleasure-walk. Like all konkan beaches this is a clean unpolluted beach. Chivla beach has fisher-folk community living by its side. Like all sea-shores one can enjoy the sunset from Chivla beach.During December to February when skies are clear one can see many shades of colors at the time of sunset. Moonlight makes this beach more splendid late in the night and nocturnal walk on this beach is a memory to cherish.

Devgad Beach - Sindhudurg District


The Devgad Beach, situated in Devgad town , Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra state in western India. Devgad is located on the Arabian Sea in the coastal Konkan region of Maharashtra. Devgad Beach is a popular picnic spot. Devgad is globally famous for its Alphonso mangoes.

Taramumbari Beach - Devgad - Sindhudurg District


Taramumbari Beach is in Devgad , Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra state in western India. Devgad is globally famous for its Alphonso mangoes. From Devgad  Taramumbari Beach is Approx 4 Kms.  The beach is very Clean with transparent water. Opposite to Taramumbari beach is called as Mithmumbri. From Taramumbari a bridge construction is going on to reach Kunkeshwar Mandir, which will save distance and time.

Ambolgad Beach - Ratnagiri District

Ambolgad is a Village in Rajapur Taluka in Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra State, India. Amobalgad is near from Nate. Nate is centrally located between Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Ambolgad is around 55 kms from Ratnagiri. Ambolgad Beach is very clean with blue water. Nice silent and cool place to enjoy holidays.
